Delete Your Account
This page explains how to ask us to delete your ride.dev account and the data linked to it, what we delete, and what we must keep. You do not need the app installed to make a request.
Who This Is For
Anyone with a ride.dev account: drivers, guardians, passengers, and administrators of participating schools, transportation providers, and healthcare coordinators. The ride.dev app and service are operated by Hive Management, LLC.
How to Request Deletion
Email us from the email address on your account:
- To: support@medrideco.com (open in your email app)
- Subject: Account deletion request
- Include: the name on the account, and the organization (school or transportation provider) you use ride.dev with, if you know it.
Drivers and other staff can also ask their coordinator, who will pass the request to us.
What Happens Next
- We verify the request. We confirm it came from the account holder, usually by replying to the email address on the account. We may ask for more information if we cannot match the request to an account.
- We delete your account. Your sign-in account and profile data are deleted within 90 days, the period our Privacy Policy states for account closure. This includes your name, phone number, email address, saved addresses, preferences, and push-notification tokens.
- We confirm. We reply to let you know the request has been completed.
Once deleted, the account cannot be restored. You will need a new invitation from your organization to use ride.dev again.
What We Keep, and Why
Some records must be kept after an account is deleted, for legal, audit, or regulatory reasons (Privacy Policy, Section 7):
- Trip and billing records containing Protected Health Information (PHI): kept for the retention period required by the covered entity (your school, transportation provider, or healthcare organization) and applicable law, typically a minimum of 6 years under HIPAA (45 C.F.R. § 164.530(j)).
- Location history: real-time GPS pings and shift trails are kept for 90 days, then aggregated or deleted.
- Authentication and audit logs: kept for 2 years.
- Encrypted backups: may hold deleted data for up to 35 days before they rotate out.
Data we hold on behalf of a covered entity is governed by that entity. To ask about those records, contact the school, transportation provider, or healthcare organization responsible for your care or transportation. We assist them as our Business Associate Agreement requires.
Deleting Some Data Without Closing Your Account
You can ask us to remove specific data, such as saved addresses or emergency contacts, without closing your account. Send the request the same way (email support@medrideco.com from the address on your account) and say what you would like removed. Many of these can also be changed in the app (Settings → Profile, or Guardian Profile → Emergency Contacts).
